City of Heroes Six Year Anniversary! \o/
Starting this weekend and until the end of May every character that logs in will be granted a commemorative badge.
Also, yesterday the Issue 17 went live.
This new issue includes a lot (a lot) of awesome things.
As it turns out, my graphics card can run UltraMode... with a low framerate. I had to toy a bit with the options to get something that looked good and that didn't make the game unplayable. I mean, I loves me some eye-candy, but I also loves me some action! We already have slideshows in some invasion events.
It seems my graphics card cannot manage all that well the new shadows, even if they're in the lowest resolution. So I had to settle for penciled shadows. That is not really a big improvement from the old ones.
I can get some water reflection, though! Those are really cool. Again, not with the option maxed out, but high enough to make a big (and pretty) difference.
And because my card is an Nvidia, I can run Ambient Occlusion and FSAA(?) together :D With character details set at its maximum value, all my characters look really good.
I need to take some screenshots. Specially of Pantalla :p
One of the Best Thing Ever in this issue is that now the enhancement screen gets resized correctly to your resolution! \o/
(I'm guessing it's part of the UI improvement that's all across the place: the contacts tab now have the Story Arc Open icon and the Call button below the Pal Status bar.)
It is really nice they found the time to solve this. No more misplaced enhancements because your cursor doesn't point where you thinn it's pointing! It was a minor annoyance, yes, but now it's gone so yay!

- Defenders inherent, Vigilance, now is useful when you're soloing! EXCELSIOR!! It grants a 30% attack bonus, that decreases in 10% for each member in your party. That means that if you're alone you get the full bonus, if you're duoing you get 20%, only a 10% if you're in a team of three, and you get no attack bonus if you're in a team of four or more people. The endurance discount still exists, and it's granted in top of this (only when you're not soloing, because it monitors your team's health excluding you). Also, to make this work properly, now pets don't count for Vigilance.
- Animated tails :D
- New Positron Task Force! Splitted in two parts, and neither of them are so long as the old Positron. (If you miss the old Task Force, is available in Ouroboros.)
- Ultra Mode!
