So, The Chapter from Glee has aired. You know, the one that was spoiled by some extras and caused a shitstorm in the fandom. Hey, the storm reached me, and I'm not even active in the fandom, so it was a huge one. (Okay, so I learned about it because I usually read fandom_wank. It was still something big in Glee fandom.)
I have mixed feelings about this chapter.
On one hand: Redemption of The Bully has happened, and I'm not all that happy with that. Perhaps I'm being too much of a jerk, but I don't feel like the audience should feel sorry for him. Yeah, impossible to be objective here, so I'll leave it before I fail (more).
On the other hand: the crowning happened as the fandom predicted. Even if it was meant to be mean, Kurt was awesome and took control of the situation, Blaine was exquisitely supportive and shared a dance with his boyfriend and it kind of turned ok for everyone involved (except Quinn). So, for me, that was good enough. I truly believe it was a good way to handle everything.
I'm really not sure about Dancing Queen. It felt offensive and appropiate and funny and a bit over-the-top. I mean, I love the song, and Mercedes and Santana did a good job with it, but.... Yeah.
Mixed feelings.
Except for Friday. That was awesome and it make me laugh all the song. (And part of Rachel's take on Jar of Hearts. Sorry, Rachel. I still think you're a fantastic singer. But you can't compete with Friday. Deal with it.)
